Our March meeting is fast approaching.

This months presentation will be on the “Thermal Comfort Impacts and ASHRAE 55” present by Kelli Dahl of Price Industries. The presentation will provide an overview of the impacts to thermal comfort, a review of ASHRAE 55 and some current ASHRAE research projects on thermal comfort.

A short abstract can be found below:

This presentation discusses occupant thermal comfort and will go over factors effecting thermal comfort including radiant temperature, metabolic rate, and others. In addition, to reviewing thermal comfort, ASHRAE Standard 55 (Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy) will also be covered, outlining the different methods that can be used to show compliance. To conclude the presentation, ASHRAE Research Project 1515 (Reduced Minimum Airflow and Effect on Occupant Comfort), as well as ASHRAE Research Project 1546 (Expansion of ADPI) will be discussed.
