Passive House Design & Construction Course

CanPHI is holding a Passive House Design and Construction course which will provide you with the fundamental knowledge to set you on the path to design and build compliant Passive House buildings, meaning an 80 – 90% reduction in annual heating and cooling energy, and reduced mechanical systems.

Training material will be geared to practical applications within the Canadian building environment and building codes. The course represents the first step in becoming a certified Passive House designer or consultant, and will enable participants to be actively involved in the design and construction of Passive House buildings.

What you’ll learn:
• Passive House design theory
• Building science for radical conservation
• Building envelope optimization for cold climates
• Hands-on building performance modeling using the PHPP design software
• Mechanical system design for comfort and performance
• Thermal bridge-free design of building assemblies
• Architectural details and technical solutions
• Detailed case study examples of current Canadian Passive house projects

The course also helps you prepare for the PHI Certified Passive House Designer Exam.
