Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) is a community within ASHRAE designed to support members 35 and under as they begin and grow their careers in the HVAC&R industry. YEA provides opportunities for professional development, technical learning, and networking with peers and experienced industry leaders.
In the Manitoba Chapter, YEA hosts social events and technical tours that help young professionals build lasting connections and gain insight into the wide range of career paths in our industry. Whether you are a student, a new graduate, or early in your career, YEA offers a welcoming environment to learn, collaborate, and get involved with ASHRAE at both the local and international level.
Getting involved in YEA is a great way to:

- Gain mentorship from experienced engineers and industry leaders

Recent YEA Spotlight
In November 2023, YEA members gathered at the Thomas Hinds Sampling Room for a unique event. SMS Engineering presented their design for the cigar lounge’s HVAC system, showcasing how they approached the challenges of ventilation and air quality in a smoke-filled environment. The evening combined technical learning with networking in a relaxed setting, making it one of our most memorable events yet.
