Dear ASHRAE YEA Members,
We are pleased to invite you to an exclusive Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) industry tour of the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) Central Utility Plant in Winnipeg.
This event will be led by Myles Boonstra, who will provide an overview of the facility’s heating and cooling infrastructure, sustainability objectives, and follow up with a guided tour of the plant. Myles is the Director of Environmental Sustainability and Energy for HSC, and he brings a wealth of knowledge about sustainable design and best practices.
During the event, participants will:
- Learn about the heating and cooling systems that serve one of Manitoba’s largest healthcare facilities.
- Gain insight into the operation of central utility plants and district energy systems.
- Hear about key sustainability objectives and opportunities.
- Explore key mechanical equipment and plant infrastructure during a guided facility tour.
- Network with fellow young engineers and industry professionals.
